My skin has always been considered “combination”. By that I mean partly dry and partly oily. My skin has always been difficult to deal with, so when I saw all these people on the internet using new products for their skin, I thought I’d give it a try too. Have you ever heard of apple cider vinegar?
Now you may have heard of the product, but have you ever considered using it as a product on your face? Probably not. Well, now you don’t have to waste your time trying it because I’ve tested it for you! Morning and night for seven days, I used Apple Cider Vinegar, $1.99 at Shoppers, and Simple Face Wash: Clean and Clear: Foaming Facial Cleanser.
Before using this product, I had no new breakouts, but I did have breakouts under my skin. The acne was very red, irritated, dry and flaky, mostly on the cheeks and near the nose. Then, every day, take a cotton pad and apply white vinegar as if it were a tonic, add water to the pad to dilute it, rub it gently on the skin, let it absorb and dry. then only daily moisturizer was applied.
First day:
The smell was a little strong in the morning the first day I used it, but I got used to it pretty quickly. Once absorbed into my skin, it felt so soft. Then I continued with my usual moisturizer and makeup. In the evening, I used a cleanser and white vinegar to remove my makeup.
Tuesday:
In the morning, I noticed that all the pimples under the skin were significantly reduced, and the redness was slightly reduced. I continued my old routine. My skin felt a little dry after removing my makeup at night, so I applied a little scrub and then reapplied the vinegar. I did not use any additional products.
Third day:
When I woke up on this day, the pimples were almost gone and no new pimples would appear. I had a small scar on my cheek before and it wasn’t as red, but I found that it was still there. My skin felt soft overnight without using any extra products.
Day four to six:
I woke up in the morning with two small but noticeable pimples (one on the cheek, the other on the forehead). I believe it happened because I was about to start my period. I washed my face with my foaming cleanser and then used apple cider vinegar as usual. Overnight, I found that the pimples had not gotten worse and had reduced slightly. I washed my face with a foaming cleanser and used apple cider vinegar. Then I had a spot treatment and went to bed.
Seventh day:
On the morning of the last day, I noticed that the pimples had reduced significantly, and as the week progressed, I noticed that the previous scars on my cheeks were getting lighter and lighter, but very little. (I believe they can get better with consistent use). At night, I washed my face and reapplied the apple cider vinegar and spot treatment.
Final review:
With apple cider vinegar, my dry skin was less of a problem. As the week progressed, I found that I wasn’t using as much moisturizer as I normally do. Also, my skin doesn’t break out like it normally does, which makes applying my makeup so much easier. I also didn’t feel like I needed to wear makeup, so that’s a bonus too.
I will continue to use this product as I truly believe it has made a difference and I think long term use will help me get rid of my scars completely. Apple Cider Vinegar has worked very well to prevent breakouts (except for hormonal acne). In a typical week I usually get about 3-5 breakouts and this week I only had 2 breakouts which is a result of my changing hormones. In a typical PMS week, I usually get lots of annoying breakouts on my forehead, chin, and cheeks; However, the only things I got this time were two small things that disappeared within two days.
I love this product and recommend it to people with skin like mine!
